St. leo's fair Notes:
Details1. Beginning of August send out e-mail explaining that kids must do either set-up (on a Saturday a week and a half before fair) or take-down. (Sunday after fair). Families appreciated, bring work gloves.
2. Post-sign-ups for trash duty at band camp; parents sign-up at parent meeting (could also use Sign-Up Genius) 3. Follow-up with e-mails to fill every spot 4. Bring own latex gloves for our kids 5. TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY are lighter fair days; shifts can easily be 2 groups of 3 kids + 1 parent supervisor for each 6. THURSDAY and FRIDAY are heavier (Friday MUCH heavier), shifts should be at least 2 groups of 4 kids (that can be split up into 4 groups of 2 kids if you have enough push-carts) with 2 parents for each group/each shift 7. SATURDAY is lighter again, but stay with the Thursdays/Friday numbers because you really need to clean up all day long to prevent back-up as the fair closes 8. SATURDAY have as many parents as possible for dish duty on the evening and late-night shift KEY:

Keep in Mind
1. Marcia is more of the day of contact during the fair; Joe is the overall contact.
2. If there is only one garbage to empty, it is the one behind the clam shack (Joe works this booth so he watches)!
3. The kids need to throw the garbage behind the dumpsters. They will also recycle cardboard boxes in a dedicated dumpster.
4. The kids need to collect garbage outside as well as in the Bingo hall and in the kitchen.
5. The kids should be able to utilize the bathrooms inside the church (vs. porta-potty outside).
6. We need to provide our own gloves (Alex Finiaz has donated in past; she is a dentist).
7. St. Leo's does not like students washing the dishes.
8. At the end of the night, as guests are leaving the premises, as the kids empty a garbage can, we put in a liner and turn the can upside down (so people do not keep throwing stuff and we have to keep emptying). We keep a few upright and visible until everyone is gone.
9. On the last evening, all the garbage cans are emptied and brought in front of the clam shack.
10. Parents must stay to finish dishes for the night. The last shifts will have to clean the large pasta pots (1/2 size of me!)
11. Anyone who is still around the last evening can attend the mid-night mass and join in the feast/drink afterwards.
12. Parents do not have to carry garbage. Kids should check in with the chaperones and check out. Also, parent should keep the kids on task and hand out food/drink vouchers along with giving breaks. Parents also get the vouchers.
